「白い家」の施主でもある近藤設備の東京事務所の内装設計です。白い家のたつ北上にある山の美しさやそこでの活動と東京を結びつける拠点です。
都心の1階に位置するこのオフィスを2つに分け、小さなCADルームと街とつながる大きなミーテイングスペースを作りました。ミーティングスペースは打合せだけではなく、co-workingスペースやまちの人のサロンのように使える場所です。
CADルームは落ち着いて作業できるように、カーテンで仕切って使えるように提案しました。テキスタイルデザイナーの庄司はるか氏と共に北上の山を撮影し、そこから切り取った様々な風景をコラージュしながら、メッシュ状のカーテンにプリントしました。岩手の光と影が東京の空間に映り込み、二つの離れた場所を重ね合わせました。
Office Renovation Project for Kondo Equipment Co. Ltd’s satellite office in Tokyo. The owner of the company is also the client for the “White Hut” in Kitakami Iwate, where Mr. Kondo regularly holds community events on the mountain site that he owns, and he wishes for his activities in Iwate to spark at interest for people living in the heart of Tokyo.
The Tokyo Satellite office is located in a prime location in Sendagaya at the heart of Tokyo. We divided the office space longitudinally, creating a small drafting office, and a large meeting area that extends onto the streets. The meeting area is intended to be used as a shared working space for discussions and collaborators, or a party venue at night.
In order provide privacy within the drafting office, the space is softly divided with a curtain, designed in collaboration with Haruka Shoji, a textile designer. Image samples from the mountains of Iwate were taken in Autumn 2021, arranged and collaged in exaggerated scales printed double sided on fabric mesh. LIght and shadows of Iwate are then casted onto this office space in Tokyo, connecting the two in spirit.
