岩手県北上市にある山中のチーズケーキ工場をイベントスペースにするリノベーション計画です。既存の床を取り壊して二層吹き抜けのダイニングとし、角壁を剝がして、夏と中間期に外に開放することが可能なスペースとしました。キッチンの上は梯子で登る秘密の基地です。2021年夏頃に竣工して、山の全体計画を議論する拠点として使われています。
This is a renovation project for an existing cheesecake factory, to be converted into a private event space, within the mountains in Kitakami City, Iwate. Part of the existing 2nd storey floor was taken apart to create a double-volume dining area. A corner wall had been stripped off and opened up to create a light and airy bench and deck area that connects to the outside. Above the open kitchen area that is adjacent to the dining is a floating “tea house” for multiple uses. The space completed summer 2021, and is now used as a meeting point to discuss about how the mountain is to be further used to connect with the local community.
